Insight into Hamari Suraksha from the man behind - Ashwani Narula



1. What prompted you to start Hamari Suraksha? Or the idea behind launching it? 

Back in USA, there was nothing much I could do about the safety of my mother in India. I would hear news about thefts, elderly people getting murdered and other horrific news from India. I found similar concerns with my other USA based Indian friends. This feeling of helplessness took my attention to the problem of safety and security in my motherland which led me to develop this software. 

2. Your background?

I have spent over 25 years in IT/ ITES and have managed several business enterprises. I am the Founder President of PeoplePlus Software Inc., a software development company based in Ann Arbor, MI, USA. A co-founder Megasys Software Services Inc., and founder of NetXert Inc., IT consulting firms that were later merged with large IT firms in USA. As a part of the core team, I have been instrumental to build the Indo American Chamber of Commerce in Michigan, USA from virtually no member to over 100 corporate members. Prior to this, I worked with several large IT companies in India and in USA.

3. What is Hamari Suraksha?

Hamari Suraksha Software Solutions Pvt. ltd. is an identity management & background tracking firm; a wholly owned subsidiary of Identity Technologies LLP, a US based technology enterprise. The firm’s objective is to seamlessly manage any user, organization or application, anywhere, anytime, from any device to protect identity, defend privacy and secure access.

Individual homeowners, RWA's, corporates, business factories, security agencies and other service providers such as infrastructure & facilities management can add and maintain the identity information of their employees, contract or subcontract workers, tenants, domestic help workers, security guards, drivers, cooks etc., for effective check and verification, exchange of information among their clients. Captured details include individual’s personal information, family details, photograph, biometric details, current & permanent address, references, education, training & qualification and identity proof such as election card, driver’s license, PAN card, UID, NPR, ration card, passport etc. The firm will register, verify, maintain identification record and track people to help create a secure, crime and fraud free society.

4. What is the USP of HS?

Hamari Suraksha provides a single management console and view of the entire security infrastructure, allowing individuals or corporate to mix and match people, background and service level, to make a right choice while drastically reducing the background, verification and overall security costs, simplifying security management and accelerating the speed to protection. 
Unlike in the western countries where the background information databases are updated regularly and the background on individuals can be checked, India doesn't have any such information available in the public domain. 

5. Are there any other portals offering the same kind of services?

No, there are no such web portals in India. We are the only one. 

6. How does the registration and verification process take place? Please explain in detail

We provide services at multi-level; our collaboration tool thus allows multiple users to work on the same platform and share information. The process is initiated by registration of individual’s personal details. The other details include information like family details, birth place/origin, identification documents, address proof, photographs, biometric information, employment & education details.
Cross verification for data consistency of the collected information is the next step; This includes address, criminal/court records check, drug test, credit checks, academic qualification, professional references and employment history check etc. 
Based on the verified information, the companies, their clients, individuals can make their decisions and take appropriate action.
